Old Fashioned Pie and Ice Cream Social Fundraiser!
The Gunflint Trail Historical Society would like to invite you to the final event of the summer season.
The annual Old Fashioned Pie and Ice Cream Social on the Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center grounds.
The North Shore Swing Band will be on the front porch of Chik-Wauk Lodge to get us in the mood - starts at 12:30 until 2 pm
As always, there will be lots of locally homemade pies to choose from get there early for best selections. There is a suggested donation of $5 per slice of pie, ice cream and beverage.
Guest author will be local favorite Tim McDonnell. Tim will have his latest book for signing "Where Water Collides with Stone".
This day also features the annual Chik-Wauk “sidewalk” sale which offers steep discounts on many gift shop items. It will be a fun way to wrap up the summer and say “so long till next year,” to our friends and neighbors.
All proceeds help with the daily operational costs of Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center.

It's a Wild Life!
From chance encounters with a moose while biking down a forest road to several weeks spent observing a loon family from a seat of a kayak. Join Travis Novitsky share his favorite encounters with Minnesota's wildlife.
Travis is a life-long resident of Grand Portage on the north shore of Lake Superior. Travis has been taking photographs for over 20 years. Travis loves to combine photography with his other favorite activities of hiking, biking, paddling, skiing, and snowshoeing.
All presentations are family friendly and free to the public.
The presentation will be held inside Chik-Wauk Nature Center.
Donations are appreciated.

Held at A. Paul & Carol Schaap Community Center - 7401 Gunflint Trail
Meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. after a brief overview of GTHS business. Guest Speaker will be Sandy Skrien.
Sandy will have a slide presentation of her father Rolf Skrien and his time living on the Gunflint Trail. She will talk about her expericence working out of the Seagull Guard Station.
The Gunflint Trail Historical Society has four public membership meetings available to all GTHS members and the public. Membership meetings are held the second Monday of June, July, August, and September at either the Seagull Lake Community Center or the A. Paul and Carol Schaap Community Center (you can find a list of meeting dates and places on the GTHS website).
