The Gunflint Trail Historical Societies -
Shrimp Boil and Bake Sale


The first scheduled fundraiser event for the Gunflint Trail Historical Society and Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center is the annual; Shrimp Boil and Bake Sale.

The event is being held at the Seagull Lake Community Center -
12059 Gunflint Trail, Grand Marais, MN (GTVFD Hall #3).


Join us on Sunday, June 9 beginning at 4 p.m.
We welcome any volunteers to come early and help set up.

Suggested price of $15 per plate - as always, we appreciate all the extra help everyone donates to the Gunflint Trail Historical Society each season.

This event has been well received by the community with over 100 residents, neighbors, and friends attending yearly.

As the date gets closer and you are interested in bringing some baked goodies, please contact Judy Edlund at 388-4400. A membership table will be set up to give newcomers the opportunity to join the Gunflint Trail Historical Society. This event will be a fun time and we hope you bring along your friends and neighbors.

GTHS meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. after a brief overview of GTHS business.

The Gunflint Trail Historical Society has four public membership meetings available to all GTHS members and the public. Membership meetings are held the second Monday of June, July, August, and September at either the Seagull Lake Community Center or the A. Paul and Carol Schaap Community Center (you can find a list of meeting dates and places on the GTHS website).
 

Treats and conversation follow (thank you to the ladies that provide the home baked goodies each month). If you would like to bring some baked goodies or treats for our monthly meetings please contact Judy Edlund 218-388-4400.

Mark your calendars - Kids’ Day is back

Every Tuesday June 25 – August 20
11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Children under age 18 can visit the Museum and Nature Center free of charge

Chik-Wauk staff will offer a variety of hands-on activities all related to the unique history and nature of the Gunflint Trail, as well as stories, hikes, journal making, and craft projects

A parent or guardian must accompany children at all times at the Nature Center

Donations are appreciated to cover the costs of materials and supplies


Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center is a partnership of the Gunflint Trail Historical Society and Superior National Forest, Gunflint Ranger District.
